The United Sailing Sims announces the “Contested Water” sims. Pirates throughout SL are hereby notified that they have a place in the Blake Sea/USS area where they can settle their grievances like all pirates should, on the water. Arggghhh. Over the next one to two weeks the southeast corner of the Blake Sea and the area just east of the Blake Sea will be converted to “Contested Waters” sims. The announcement is also being dispatched to all ironcladists who will have equal access to the sims to attack their enemies and defend their ports and landings.

The current sims in the southeastern corner of the Blake Sea area will be changing soon. You can see from the map on the left (click for full blown map) what is coming. Four of the current Blake Sea sims will be designated as “contested waters”. Pirates and ironclad sailors can, when the sims are not being used for a pre-announced sailboat race, use the contested waters sims to settle their differences. The SL Sailing Calendar, seen on every page of this web site and other places as well (eventually on Barbarosa and Hollywood sims) will be modified so that race directors can include a note on the calendar listing when these contested sims will be in use for a race.
When a race is not scheduled, pirates and ironclad sailors can use the sims for their purposes. A methodology will be created in the days ahead so that the two groups can coordinate reservation of the sims at non-racing times.
The Contested Water sims will also extend into the private USS sims to the east of the Blake Sea. Those sims with the name “BLAKE” but not “ BLAKE SEA” will also be part of the Contested Waters. These sims (Blake Shore, Blake Coast, and Blake Passage) will be immediately available for long term lease to the Pirate and Ironclad communities. The two Blake sims right next to the Blake Sea sims are being held for pirate sims and will be leasted as whole sims for $137.50 USD per month. Blake Passage will also be immediately available. Blake Key, Blake Cove, and Blake Point will be built in phase two. If you are interested in ANY of the sims, contact MarkTwain White and get on the waiting list. The waiting won’t be long. The remainder of the Contested Waters sims will be parceled into 1/2 and 1/3 sims for $74.50 and $50.00 respectively. They are initially only available to pirates or ironclad sailors. As with the whole sims, please drop MarkTwain White a notecard if you are interested. Please indicate which sized parcel you are interested in. Finally the pirate community and the ironclad community have a place they can call there own (the Blake sims) and a place in the Blake Sea to boot.
Note: severe penalties will be leved at any pirate or ironclad sailor who fires on civilian craft or non-contended parcels.
