In the Air: BLIMPS , On water: ACA33, On the air: ACA33 Racers will rock you, DON’T MISS IT !

In recent weeks, Blake Sea was invaded by competitors who train hard for this event. A first outcome will be this Saturday. Only 8 of them will earn their ticket to the final rounds scheduled a week later. To help you better follow this event, here is the latest official information as provided by the organization in an updated draft-version of Sailing Instructions (extract):

SCHEDULING
The competition will be held over two dates, Saturday 30 January 2010 and Saturday 6 February 2010.
  • 30 January — Eight regattas will be spread throughout the day, each will be about an hour long. All boats in a time slot will race three times in fleet races, scored using Low Point Scoring. Crashes will be scored DNF and each boat is allowed one throwout. The top two finishers in each slot will advance to a single match race, immediately following the fleet races, to determine the winner for the regatta. The winner will advance to the Quarterfinals on 6 February. At the time of writing, groups are as follows:
    • 4 am: don Berithos, Fadamuito Boa, LDeWell Hawker, ched Arado, Joly John, Wolem Wobbit
    • 6 am: Ben Byron, Fearless Freenote, Neron Blanco, Leon Falta, Moontears Vought, ziz Kidd
    • 8 am: takabou Destiny, Lynn Cuttita, Aislin Keynes, belladonna Foxtrot, Seraina Benelli, momo Actor
    • 10 am: Aquarius Paravane, Astro Marksman, mituko Brandenburg, Chad Sawson, CaroForFun Oh, Armano Xaris
    • 12 pm: Nuggy Negulesco, Silber Sands, Wheels Byron, Wise Zapatero, Ella Larsen, ahjep Kattun
    • 2 pm: Axle Wharton, Trapez Breen, gisela Daniels, marte Balbozar
    • 4 pm: nory Igaly, nobuko Criss, Gemma Vuckovic, Jaspar Recreant, Crazee Lunasea
    • 6 pm: KazumaHs Destiny, Bunnie Mills, Carmen Foden, Colin Nemeth


  • 6 February — The eight finalists from 30 January will be seeded randomly and placed in a tournament bracket. Eight single-elimination match races will be held between 7 am and 10 am SLT. Four races will decide the Quarterfinal round. Two more races will decide the Semifinal round. The winners of the Semifinal round will advance to the Championship Race, while the remaining pair of boats will race the Consolation Final.

COURSES

The competition will be run on two courses, Course A and Course B.

The courses will alternate during the regattas on 30 January. The Quarterfinal, Consolation Final and Championship races will be run on Course A.

The Semifinal races will be run on Course B.

Spectator Platforms

Several “BLIMPS” will be set up to watch the races in the sims surrounding the courses. A notecard will be provided with some recommendations and slurls to the platforms.

  • During the races all spectators are requested to stay in the designated viewing areas.
  • Please remove ALL scripted Attachments and objects. It is strongly recommended that ALL spectators remove or detach all scripted objects from their avatars. This includes gadgets, HUDs, AOs, particle emitters, hugs, sexy walks, wagging tails, etc. You need to detach them, not merely turn them off.
  • Do NOT click on the boats, even when they are moored before a race. Race Committee will have zero tolerance for spectator interference with the boats.
