For many weeks fighting sail battles have taken place in the private Blake Sims (not to be confused with the Blake SEA sims). The battles, run under the guidelines of the Blake Sea Battles Group (BSBG) are now expanding into four of the Blake Sea sims as seen on the map.
Originally we planned a parallel Blake Sea Calendar that the SL Sailing community would need to check to see when the pirates/ironclads had reserved the four contested sims for an organized battle. We decided to simply post the battles on the regular SL Sailing Calendar. For the most part only races that would start from the Arabian line would be sharing common water. Since these are scheduled events there shouldn’t be any confrontations. If sailors would like to communicate with the Blake Sea Battles Group you can look up that group, or you can go over to Sanctuary Rock and send a notice to the Battle Coordinators. At present the BSBG has two battle coordinators, Blue Manbi, and Scattered Sideways.
To aid both sailors and pirate/navies we have put signs on the borders of the Contested Waters of the Blake Sea warning sailors they are entering an area where battles might be taking place as well as warning the pirates/navies that they are about to leave the contested areas. The four Contested Waters sims have build turn on with a quick autoreturn. This allows the ships to fire their cannon. All combat is conducted with scripted weapons, damage is not turned on in the sims.
To pirates and ironclad sailors who wish to get involved in these battles join the BSBG. Also check out the information at Sanctuary Rock.

I’d like to take this opportunity to point out that the Rain Island Army Union has a detachment of the Landing Force in-world, available for small-scale amphibious operations at our usual reasonable rates.
(If I can get this script sorted we’ll even have a proper landing craft.)

Don’t believe everything you read on http://spontoon.rootoon.com
Hi Wolf,
Thanks for the interest in the Blake Sea Contested Sims. However the theme for the sims is fighting sail and iroclads. If your “small scale amphbious operations” is outside of the historical contraints of those two eras, they would not fit in the area. But we have LOTS of cross-over avatars who fight in multiple eras. Come on over an learn how to “wear ship” and rake the stern of those scruvy ridden pirates/British/Americans/etc. That’s “wear ship” in a nautical way, not an SL way. hahaha.
