Havok Sims Updated on Beta Grid

January 7th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Newsflash! Sidewinder Linden has changed up the lineup of sims on the Beta grid for Havok4 testing. Realizing the need to satisfy both the testing crowd who need open water with few obstructions, and the cruising crowd who wished for familiar waters to play on (that happen to contain a windsetter and race line and buoys), at my recommendation earlier today Sidewinder has copied the following sims into the Beta grid:

  • Bismarck Sea
  • Bougainville Strait
  • New Georgia Sound
  • Santa Rosa

This means that a partial set of NYC and SYC courses are available for those who think that a race is the best way to test performance of Havok4; and for those who just need open space, that’s 4 sims of pretty much open water to test in.

Testing is the main point of these sims, by the way, and it is strongly encouraged you take notes on behavior and pass them along, either to me, or to Sidewinder Linden directly if you wish, in a notecard.

Remember that Havok4 is still at very early stages. Things will not be as you know them on the main grid. Be forewarned!

You can download the Beta client here.

If I’m correct this means for racers we can tack up and down the area near the start line that is part of most NYC courses?

Bato - Oh, he put both Santas in? Neat. I’d suggested them as an either/or. Wonder how I missed seeing both when I was there :)

    Liv - That’s basically correct, yes :)
