While preparing for the new Passages Race, we discovered a problem with the Start Line script that causes errors in race wind. The error occurs in all boats, but is worst on the Passages Line when sailing a large boat like the Trudeau Tradewind.
Thank you to Cynthia Centaur for figuring this out, and coming up with a solution! Yesterday we installed new line code throughout USS to fix this problem, so there should be no interruption in the regular sailing schedule.
However, we also decided it was wise to postpone the start of the Passages Race to next Saturday, March 8. This short delay will allow further testing of the system and give competing skippers a chance to practice the course under race conditions.
We’ll post details on SLSailing.com and SLSailing.org, and we’ll see you on the water March 8!
