The Trudeau 20 has launched!
Here are the details.
SYC will hold its Inaugural Trudeau 20 Regatta this coming Saturday Morning, September 20 at 8AM. Jacqueline Trudeau will be there as our guest of honor.
I am VERY excited about this boat and it’s possibilities as a great racing boat in the tradition of the Tako and the Fizz.
And of course it’s a great little cruising boat at heart, complete with an overnight canopy.

When I first saw the Twenty I thought “OMG, what a fat kid!”, but now I must say it really is a wonderful boat. Just bought it tonight and could only sail it for like 15 minutes but I already love love love it.
Jackie got the bitchy sculpties right and managed to make it a hop-on boat, no attachments needed for the Twenty. That’s a very critical point for me.
Now I only gotta wait for Oph to return from her vacation so she can photoshop the name tag to truly make it MINE!

Yes I agree Orca.. a hop on boat is so much nicer.. and this one I can moor next to my houseboat and just hop on and sail away… Thank you Jacqueline!

Looking at the underwater lines and the gaff rig, she might not point upwind very well or accelerate quickly out of a tack. But, for two couples out for a sail with wine and cheese she looks ideal. However, we shouldn’t compare Fizz and Tako with the Trudeau 20. She’s almost 8 times the price !

Well Tory.. obviously different boats.. but to me the Tako and Fizz are great racers.. but they are also unrealistically fast. This boat seems to be right on the mark. It doesn’t point high but the reefing is really a nice touch I haven’t seen in other SL sailboats.

I have yet to bum a ride on a “20″, so I was just giving my thoughts. For old SL residents, $2000 for a boat isn’t a lot. For noobs it will be a fortune. Hey, this isn’t an entry level boat.
It’s yet to be seen but, as my Dad said: Tory, If everyone is sailing bathtubs with bedsheets, get a bathtub with a bedsheet. I may have to get a ‘20′ if that’s the case.
