MarkTwain White has sold SLSailing.Com to Bea Woodget.
SLSailing.Com (COM) was launched in September 2007 as a companion to the SLSailing Forum to provide increased coverage of the SL Sailing scene. Over the past three and a half years COM has grown to an average of 5000 visits a month with an average of 30,000 page views per month (Google Analytics).
COM has had three editors over the course of its history, MarkTwain White, Jane Fossett and its current editor, and now owner, Bea Woodget. It is rare for a hobby web site to boast such experienced editors as COM has had.
“I am pleased to turn over the ownership of COM to Bea”, said White. “I gave COM birth and grew it, Jane Fossett’s skills helped move along that growth, but it was Bea Woodget who stepped in and expanded COM to the wide ranging information source that it is today. A good deal of the current traffic that COM enjoys came from Bea’s efforts.”

Although I am convinced that I am making a huge mistake
, be assured I’ll do my best to continue in the spirit initiated by MarkTwain, serving the community and with the greatest possible open-mindedness. Beyond a task, this is a duty, an honor for me, and my pleasure.
This site is for you all, and all are welcome to contribute. New projects will be announced soon in this regard.
Bea

WOOOTS to all those involved in taking slsailing to its current state, and WOOOTS to those who are involved in taking it even further. It is a valuable window into our little world, and it is a very nice resource for inworlders.
I do hope that this will not turn into a forum for overinflated egomaniacs to broadcast their platitudes and opinions to the detriment of common sense and the ENJOYMENT of sailing simulation in Second Life.
This is NOT Real Life and even though we try an emulate much of the RL sailing experience through the superb technical skills and manifestations of developers and builders of boats and their physics, at the end of the day SL is a Game, a Simulation, and as such should be FUN and not an arduous up hill struggle against purism and stultifying correctness. Sail and have FUN everyone!
@ Elbag: Not sure to catch what you mean here. I run dotCOM alone for 14 months now, I don’t plan to change the editorial line, I even add more features to better serve the community (see next edito) and to let everyone express himself. Your participation is welcome. But maybe you are talking about the forum?
Béa, didn’t you say something about a new forum? And now what we get is just another blogroll.
