For the second time, dotCOM sponsors the “SL SAILOR OF THE YEAR – 2011 AWARD“. Nominations are opened to all, independent or affiliated, without any kind of limitations. No jury here, but all of you.
Nominations are now invited for the 2011 SLSA dotCOM SL Sailor of the Year Awards, the most prestigious award of recognition in the sport of SL Sailing. The nominees and winners will include the highest achievers from all disciplines of the sport.
The accomplishments of the sailors nominated must be an inspiration – from windsurfers and dinghy sailors to long-distance specialists, a nominee’s achievements may be an exceptional series of regatta wins, a record breaking passage or a triumph against the odds, or also something done for the best of our community
Nominations may be made by anyone and the only criterion for sailors is “outstanding achievement in the sport of sailing” during the qualifying period of 1 October 2010 to 31 September 2011.
In 2010, Silber Sands and LDeWell Hawker were named SLSA dotCOM SL Sailors Of The Year. Who will be next?
Nominations should be sent to dotCOM by 12:00 (UTC) on Friday 9 October 2010 using the Official Nomination Form below (or using this link).
A shortlist of nominations will be drawn up by dotCOM from all those received by the deadline and those making the cut (top n) will go on to become the SLSA dotCOM SL Sailor of the Year 2011 Nominees. All SLSA Members and individuals will then vote in-world for one male and one female sailor who they believe merits the Award.
The winners will be announced at an Awards party on Sunday 13 November at a location to be defined. The winners will be presented with the gold trophy.
