dotCOM received about 70 nominations for the 2011 Awards for sailors representing all aspects of the our community and sport. It is a great success again for the second edition of this Award. There can be only one winner in each of the two categories, male and female, and we are delighted to announce the names of those sailors who made the cut and thus are now vying for the coveted and prestigious 2011 SLSA dotCOM SL Sailor of the Year Award. Read more and vote below.
Starting today you can vote for the sailors, a male and a female, who do you think is most deserving to receive the Award of the sailor of the year. There will be only one winner per category. Voting will end Wednesday, November 30. Voting is by secret ballot, you may vote only once in each category, but multiple selections are allowed (2 in “Male”, 3 in “Female).
Note: To spread the wealth and recognition around, we decided of …a year hiatus…a 1 year rule is now in place, thus the 2 people awarded in 2010 were removed from that list, and they will assist the Master of Ceremony and they will pass the torch to the persons whom you will vote for. Complete lists of nominees were published here. This year there are five female and three male nominees who have been shortlisted for the SLSA dotCOM Sailor of the Year award based on their achievements during the qualifying period of 1 October 2010 to 31 September 2011.
A big party will be hosted to celebrate the winners at the Awards Ceremony in December, with a prestigious Master of Ceremony and will be attended by the two winners of the 2010 Award, Silber Sands and LDeWell Hawker.

How come I ever made the cut? I don’t even own a sim, neither am I to be seen in Blake very often. Clearly I should be disqualified.
@ Kent: Polldaddy sure sounds creepy doesn’t it? Is probably some “dirty old man” kinda character, a very shady guy with an eye on the young girls. Eeeeks
