SLVT 2nd Round of Quarterfinals – Sat. 14th

Published by under Races,SL Vuitton Trophy

August, Saturday 7th: Last Saturday, Armano and Takabou have brilliantly qualified for the SLVT semifinals. Armano, unsurprisingly, dominated the debates and qualified in first place with 4 wins. Armano is the current leader of the SLSA ACA Rankings (15 entries, an average of 117 points). Note that Trapez (currently 3rd in the ACA rankings) was unfortunately unable to defend his chances, nor also Carmen, who was replaced by Astro to represent NYC. This does not detract from the merit of Takabou who finished second in this quarterfinal / round-robin 1 (with 3 wins, only 1 loss vs. Armano).

In semifinal, Armano will race against the skipper qualified in second rank following the round robin 2 on this Saturday. Takabou will race with the winner of the round-robin 2 to come.

August, Saturday 14th: On Saturday, therefore, are in competition: Amythest, Kazumah, LDeWell, Lynn and … Carmen who is back to represent NYC (Pairing below). If Amythest seems to be the favorite (currently occupying the second position in SLSA ACA Rankings with 13 participations and an average of 105 points), no doubt one may well be surprised at the view of the previous rounds.

Armano, being considered as one of the favorite in semifinals, let’s see if participants in this second round-robin will calculate in order to avoid to race with him in semifinal, or if their competitive spirit will prevail. (Indeed, this is surely inconsistent …).
Gentlemen, take your marks.

SLVT Finals: A Great Finish please

EDITORIAL: The SLVT Trophy is coming to an end. The next weekend, the 10 qualified competitors will do battle in a final which I hope will be remembered, after 6 (or was it 5?) qualifying rounds.

But I admit to having had difficulty in gaining a clear overview of the phases of qualifications. Great freedom was deliberately left to the host YCs, which have sometimes made choices so different in competition format, that it has certainly had an impact on the qualification. TYC, thanks to Liv, defined the first model of a competition format, which was then more or less adopted and followed by several YCs, but with some differences.
