Funny the other day we were doing a team battle “ Fort Attack” and I was manning a cannon on the fort and then something caught my eye and I looked down to see a submarine telescope popping out of the waters with a bit of special affects with a smoke
screen. Then I got hit with a modern missile so I point the cannons down and gave him a few 1700 century blast myself , “like I it made any difference” lol.

I take my battle playing in the Blake sea very light hearted because it is what it is, even when you are sunk and you tp up to the observation deck to see how the battles turns out, you have a chance also to see some fantastic builds fly around or these huge ships passing by,” like modern battles cruisers”. I believe this helps promote other interest and many people come by to see the battles just out of curiosity and have a great time just watching. I am still very positive what goes around in the Blake Sea and I find it quite humorous at times.

There are lots of plans in the workings to give the pirate and navy battles a better experience and they will be held on privet realms and other realms are coming back online so there will be plenty of room for battles with non interrupted by huge modern ships and aircraft.

But like many we will always return for a great battle in the Blake Sea, “Just too much fun!!!”.

Thanks for all the hard working keeping Blake Sea Battle grounds in operation.

Where are these rules documented? I'm hearing some conflicting reports of the height limit, and I have, a couple of times, come across an aircraft carrier conducting flight operations in the Blake Sea. (I know of two acting as fixed bases now, well north of the Blake Sea.)

(It does look as though you have to pick the right aircraft to get the control performance needed for low level.)

The person in question (Yohan Roux) was piloting a modern submarine with what appeared to be a quad antiaircraft gun mounted behind the sail on the afterdeck. This fact in and of itself appears to be a violation of the contested waters rules governing the use ot sailing ships and or ironclad ships in the contested waters areas. This is the second time I have been fired on by this person while flying over the priate waters areas. The previous incidents I had reported to you by notecard titled BLAKE SEA THUNDERER INCIDENT dated 10 dec 2011, which included another notecard referring to an incident on 6 December as well. I reported this recent incident to the Hollywood Security as well (Serendipity Weatherwax). I felt it would be best to clarify the rules here as this is the hub for contested waters information. I love flying at blake sea... I come here to enjoy flying, not to be engaged in combat which is why I stay fairly below 249 meters, so that even if I'm flying a military aircraft, it is clear by my altitude that I'm not engaging in air to air combat. It would be easy to overreact and respond in kind, but two wrongs don't make a right.

Everything you have said about the rules in the Blake Sea (as outlined in the rules for the Hollywood Airport and enforced by us, not Linden Lab who has no such rules) is true. If we get confirmed (by chat or independent witness evidence of a violation we will deal with it accordingly. What I find interesting is that if you were at the blake sea minimums (70 metere) I would not expect that a pirate ship could elevate its guns to fire that high (but I do not know for sure). Like aviation, pirates are a wide mix of people: A lot of good guys and an occasional bad guy.

If I may ask, according to the Blake sea rules, Surface to air and air to surface combat is forbidden, as is combat against non combatants. Also, I know Air to air is only allowed over 249M and then only against other combatants. Am I correct that a surface ship, firing against a non combatant aircraft would be a rules violation? I have been fired upon by a pirate in the contested areas while I was flying above Blake sea minimums in a recognizably civilian non combatant aircraft. When I quoted the blake sea rules, I was given the slurl for this blog, as if that excused the infraction of the blake sea rules. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I was a friend of Niki's as well. Tig recently sent me this link again and even after all this time, the memory still stirs a few tears.

Now that Niki has "crossed the bar" I wish her smooth sailing to her next destination.
