I have a question about Event4(NYC) WL1 course.
On the way to Windward mark (Mark-1), do we need to pass the area between Mark MP and MS?
On “11. Marks i. The following…”
>Course WL1
>Mark 1 – to port
>MarkMP – to port
>MarkMS – to starboard
>Mark2 – to port
Does this mean we have to pass between MP and MS on the way to mark2?

Details about WL1:
Racers must pass through the MP-MS gate on the way back from the top mark (1) to mark 2 , and only on the way back, they don’t need to pass through it on the way from start to the top mark (1).
Inworld notecard with Sailing Instructions has been updated with this detail.

I wanted to express my thanks to Yuu, Bea, and Liv for helping out this weekend. It was a MARATHON for those of us that had SYC roles to play! One thing that I strongly recommend for clubs that are running Fizz Cup events is to establish voice contact outside of SL. That helped us tremendously.

Thanks Nber, SYC brought a very experienced staff in and did a great job in facilitating the Cup. Especially the large amount of ACA’s swarming along near the course area could have caused troubles without the great security work.

The vast majority of skippers were very kind when contacted to move away from the area… I appreciated that VERY much! Another person that I failed to thank earlier was Taku Raymaker. He did not have an official role, but helped nevertheless. Thanks Taku!

BTW, I forgot to use the Dale Glass SL viewer, but it has some definite advantages for security work at this type of event. I have used it in the past and it is a tremendous help. Check it out.

I wanted to add my thanks to the race committee for all the help this weekend. It was a marathon, good practice for the RFL weekend coming up.

I would also VERY STRONGLY recommend outside voice communication for this type of event. We use Skype on a daily basis and in this case it allowed up to keep each other informed on where we were on the course, what boats we were following so others could watch the remaining boats, discuss any possible rules violations and otherwise keep each other informed, alert, and amused :-)
