What are ‘graded events’?

Graded events are regular sail boat races that participate in the SLSA Sailing Rankings. An RD may submit results from a graded event for inclusion into the rankings.

How to propose a new graded event

Please contact Bea Woodget (IM/Notecard) inworld for more information.

Graded events guidelines

  • the event should be held regularly (with a capital R)
  • it should be open to all (for example, it should take place in a PG rated area)
  • a graded event should be marked with a ‘(G)’ in the SL Sailing Calendar, for example:

My regular weekly boat races (G) – RD: your name

What the RD should do

  • Announce the event with a notice in-world marked with a (G)
  • If the race went well and you have a good set of race results that meet the grading criteria, post them under “Events and Discussion > Race Results” on slsailing.net
  • RDs can provide their own scoring method if they wish; otherwise a standard scoring method will be used
  • When posting to the forum, make you add either (G) or (graded) somewhere in the title, preferably at the end; this indicates that you would like to submit the results to the rankings:

“My regular races – location, date, time (G)”
